If you're after a sophisticated, quirky afternoon tea then check out theMad T-party at W Hotel in Seminyak. Designed and created by Australia’s most celebrated pâtissier Adriano Zumbo it's certainly an extravagant affair.

The sun-filled, spacious, lobby of the super cool, chic W hotel complex makes a perfect setting and atmosphere for a decadent afternoon tea. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our huge, colourful sofa complete with spectacular ocean views - so far so good!

We'd opted for the T-cage menu. A chance to sample a mouthwatering selection of mini sweets and treats, as well as a signature cocktail or special iced teas and coffees. Our "Drink Me" cocktails arrived first and were colourful, interesting and delicious. Next up the rest of the Mad Hatters tea party goodies were delivered in a lavish birdcage. A towering three layers of pure decadence with Alice in Wonderland flair. The top tier featured the Zumbo creations including his insatiable, melt-in-your-mouth macarons. The middle tier was packed with savoury delights; a lighter-than-air salmon mousse served in a jar, mini veggie wraps and dainty black brioche. Finished off with mini scones, green lollipop lamingtons and super gooey marshmallows. The whole Mad T party at the W Hotel is a work of art to delight your senses.

The service at the W Hotel was nothing short of fantastic, the staff went out of their way to make sure we were all looked after, especially the girls. They were mesmerised with their complimentary fruit smoothies which arrived smouldering with mysterious clouds of dry ice. The colourful lollipops to take home were a thoughtful and generous touch, really over and above.

We wrapped up the afternoon with a sunset stroll along the beach, a good chance to walk off some of our excess! A perfect end to a memorable, enjoyable occasion. Make sure you catch this special afternoon tea at the W - you'd be mad to miss it.
