Without doubt we have just had our best day ever of pumping aqua fun at Waterbom. We arrived around 10am; things started well with our rock-star park right outside the entrance. Things got even better when the lovely lady at the Waterbom ticket booth offered us heavily discounted entrance tickets as we had a Telkomsel sim, a BNI bank card and extended visas for Bali - result! We made our way to the "Funtastic" kiddies area and bagged the last couple of shady loungers poolside. The little ones could not wait to get into the water and get down to some serious splish-splashing. Jessica was beside herself; exploring body slides, spraying water canons and jumping in water jets. The aqua playland is perfect even for the littlest ones; Millie loved investigating the shallow pool and braving the gentlest of mini waterslides. With attentive lifeguards constantly supervising it is a clean and child safe for the tiny tots to play. Just watch out for the tipping bucket or you may get an unexpected drenching! Next stop; a relaxing float down the "Lazy River". All aboard our family raft, we sat back and let the gentle current carry us along. We drifted under bridges, dodged water fountains and enjoyed the tropical landscape. After a slow start it was high time for the grown ups to get our hearts pumping with some extreme sliding antics. Steve went first and braved "Climax". Entering a small chamber 16 metres above the ground the floor suddenly drops away. He was plunged, hurtling through the vertical tube in a scream a second ride. This one's certainly not for the faint hearted. I got my own adrenaline rush on "Smashdown"; a daring, stomach dropping water slide for speedsters. Waterbom's mission is "bigger, better, faster" - with four new extreme rides opened in the last 6 months they are certainly living up to this! All that thrill seeking got the hunger pangs going and we headed off for lunch. With a wide variety of food choices on offer you can something to suit the whole family. The shady food court had everything from Italian staples, Indonesian favourites, sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs. Waterbom is a cash free zone but you can load up credit throughout the park onto a velcro, waterproof bracelet. Anything left at the end of the day is credited back to you. Refuelled after lunch and a relaxing break out of the sunshine it was time for more aqua fun! Bouyed and confident after her morning of exploring, Jessica was quickly running riot on increasingly adventurous body slides. Turning to Steve wide eyed after yet another laughter filled, slippery slide she announced "This is awesome Daddy, just awesome, lets go again!" She was unstoppable! We all indulged in a full afternoon of hurtling, splashing, spinning, splattering and floating before we reluctantly decided it was time to call it a day. Bundling into the car at around 5pm we all agreed this was simply one of our best family days out ever. The great thing about Waterbom is you set your own pace. Whether you are looking for a thrillseeking day of daring slides or prefer chilling in a shady gazebo, enjoying the swim up bar and spa treatments there is something for everyone. If you're heading to Bali, with or without the kids, absolutely add Waterbom to your bucket list!
