We're always on the look out for shiny new things and love sharing our discoveries. Here are two of our favourite new finds in Ubud for October.

Is it a cinema? Is it a cultural centre? Is it a healthy, raw food cafe? No, it's all three! Quite possibly the world's first organic, vegetarian cinema and a state of the art venue in the heart of Ubud.

Located in Jalan Guatama you can pick a comfy front, row seat and enjoy a mix of arthouse classics and Hollywood blockbusters. Little ones will love the chance to see Disney favourites such as Frozen as well as old-school classics like ET & The Never Ending Story. The schedule of screenings changes weekly so keep your eyes peeled for the latest offerings.

Entry is a snip at 50,000IDR and even better it is redeemable against drinks and nibbles for you to enjoy during the screening.

As well as movies Paradiso hosts live music, events and even a weekly Zumba class - check out Paradiso for the latest news and schedules. A brilliant new addition to the Ubud social scene.

D’star Bar & Resto, Mas

Already open for a couple of months we are kicking ourselves that we have only just stumbled across the fantastic D'star Bar & Resto. Located a short drive out of Ubud in the carving and arty district of Mas it is absolutely the coolest new kid on the block.

A relaxed, funky space it has a huge outdoor area dotted with kooky recycled metal collectibles. Whimsical and eclectic with a touch of vintage it offers something a bit different to a dining experience. Little ones are well catered for with a dedicated mini dishes menu, highchairs and a kids corner with chalkboard and toys. With juices, milkshakes and a delicious range of Balinese and Western dishes it is bound to become a firm favourite with families.

Check out D'Star Mas for more information about their menu and to reserve a table.
